Cracked Heels
What Are Cracked Heels?
Cracked heels occur when the skin around the heel becomes excessively dry, thick, and loses its natural elasticity. As pressure is placed on the feet during walking or standing, the hardened skin may split, creating cracks (fissures).
Cracked heels are commonly caused by dry skin, prolonged standing, improper footwear, lack of moisture, excessive pressure on the heels, or buildup of thick callused skin. In some cases, deep cracks may become painful, sensitive, or uncomfortable.

What To Do If You Have Cracked Heels?
• Keep your feet moisturized daily with a professional foot cream
• Avoid peeling, cutting, or removing thick skin by yourself
• Wear comfortable shoes that provide proper heel support
• Avoid walking barefoot on hard surfaces for long periods of time
• Do not use sharp blades or aggressive tools at home to remove calluses
• If you notice bleeding, severe pain, swelling, drainage, or signs of infection, contact a doctor immediately
• Schedule a pedicure with our trained professional who understands proper cracked heel care techniques to safely reduce excessive buildup, improve comfort, and restore a smoother appearance
How We Can Help
European Nail Lounge, we specialize in Advanced Dry Russian Pedicure techniques designed to improve the appearance and comfort of dry, rough, and cracked heels.
Unlike traditional pedicures that soak the feet in water, our pedicure is performed completely dry. When the skin is softened by soaking, it can be more difficult to see the difference between healthy skin and excessive dead skin buildup, which may lead to over-removal and irritation.
Working on dry skin allows our trained professionals to clearly identify areas that need attention and carefully remove only the necessary buildup while preserving the skin’s natural protective barrier.
For cracked heels, we carefully work through each individual crack by cleaning out trapped dry skin and buildup, smoothing rough edges, and reducing pressure points that can cause the cracks to continue opening.
We use professional electric file techniques, precision tools, and specialized foot care products to leave the heels cleaner, smoother, and more comfortable while supporting healthier-looking skin.
This service focuses on cosmetic foot care, maintenance, and prevention and is not a medical treatment.
